Keely Small on Injury, Enjoying Life and Becoming an Oregon Duck
Keely Small is Australia’s fastest ever junior 800m runner with a PB of 2:00.81, set at only 16 years-of-age whilst racing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. A prodigious talent, Small has a whopping 8 junior Australian 800m titles to her name (U10 to U18) – and many more if you include all-schools. She also won numerous 1500m junior titles, and medalled at every single junior National cross-country championship up until the age of U17.
Loaded with talent, Keely suffered an L5 stress fracture in March of 2021, just when her Olympic campaign was heating up. After taking some time out to consider her future, Small has recently signed with the Oregon Ducks, and will depart Australian shores in January of 2022, to follow in the footsteps of Jessica Hull, and chase her glory in America.
We caught up with Keely and dived deep into the decision to move to America, her injuries, training and heaps more…

EPISODE 3: DOMINATING FORM | OLLI HOARE
Wednesday May 12, 2021
Wednesday May 12, 2021
This episode is sponsored by ON Running.
Australian men’s 1500m running is hot right now. And in amongst it, is Olli Hoare. Hailing from Caringbah, in Sydney, Olli moved to America post high school, and raced for Wisconsin. He forged an awesome collegiate career , including an outdoor 1500m NCAA title.
2020 marked Olli’s first year as a pro athlete, and he did not mess around. But 2021 has been the year that Olli emerged as a true threat in global 1500m running. So far as of May 11, 2021, Olli has clocked three Olympic standards over 1500m, wining all three of those races in dominate fashion. First there was a 3:32 indoor 1500m in New York in February, where Olli set a new Australian indoor 1500m record and clocked the 7th fastest indoor time in history . He showed it was no fluke a few months later when he clocked a 3:33 to dominate in Oregon. Then he stepped up at Mt Sac, and dominated again, clocking another 3:33. With the Tokyo Olympics approaching, we caught up with Olli and dived deep into pretty much anything we could think of…

Jake Wightman made running history at the 2020 Monaco Diamond League. On that starry night in August, 26-year-old Wightman snuck under the 3:30 barrier over 1500, clocking 3:29.47. Surpassing the likes of Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Steve Cram, now only Mo Farah sits above him on the UK all-time list; Jake Wightman has arrived. With a 1:44 800m to his name, Wightman possesses the speed needed to succeed at the top level. We caught up with Jake and chatted about pretty much everything we could muster; from his altitude training to a hypothetical boxing match against Stewart McSweyn.....
