Jake Wightman made running history at the 2020 Monaco Diamond League. On that starry night in August, 26-year-old Wightman snuck under the 3:30 barrier over 1500, clocking 3:29.47. Surpassing the likes of Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Steve Cram, now only Mo Farah sits above him on the UK all-time list; Jake Wightman has arrived. With a 1:44 800m to his name, Wightman possesses the speed needed to succeed at the top level. American 800m runner, Bryce Hoppel, ended the 2020 calendar year ranked #2 in the world over 800m. A two-time NCAA 800m champion, he has an 800m PR of 1:43.23 set at the 2020 Monaco Diamond League. With a 4th place finish at the 2019 world champs 800m, Hoppel is a serious threat for a podium finish come the Tokyo Olympics. We sat down with Bryce and dove deep into his training and everything that goes with it.
